ExxonMobil (XOM) Beats on Q4 Earnings & Revenues

Irving, TX-based ExxonMobil Corporation (XOM - Free Report) is the world’s largest publicly traded oil company, engaged in oil and natural gas exploration and production, petroleum products refining and marketing, chemicals manufacture, and other energy-related businesses. The company divides its operations into three segments: Upstream, Downstream and Chemicals.

Earnings: ExxonMobil beats on earnings. Earnings per share came in at 90 cents, above the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 72 cents. 

Revenue: Revenues surpasses expectations. Revenues of $61,016 million were higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $60,606 million.

Key Stats: Production averaged 4.121 million barrels of oil-equivalent per day (MMBOE/d), down 3% year over year. Liquid production fell 4% year over year to 2.384 million barrels per day. Moreover, natural gas production was 10.424 MMCF/d (millions of cubic feet per day), fell 2% from the year-ago period.

ExxonMobil's refinery throughput averaged 4.4 million barrels per day (MMB/D), down slightly by 0.5% from the year-earlier level.
